Garmin Rally wet battery compartment

I've now discovered twice that within a day my new battery was completely flat in my XC100 pedal.

Looking inside the battery compartment I found condensation, the seal around the battery compartment door is intact and seems not to have been incorrectly seated.

It looks like there has been water ingress, has anyone else had this problem? assuming cleaning with rubbing alcohol or isopropanol should clean and dry the contact surfaces.

If the - negative side of the battery interface is beyond repair, can replacements be purchased? is there a process to ensure that the seal is seating correctly to avoid condensation/water ingress?
