Left pedal clicking when pedaling

Bought the rally 100 spd sl version about 2 months ago. I have probably close to 700 miles on them.  The left pedal started clicking while pedaling.  I noticed the left pedal seemed to have more float than the right pedal as well.  I tried increasing the tension, that seemed to help for about 50 miles, and the clicking came back. I now have the tension at the max setting on the left pedal, and zero tension on the right pedal.  The left pedal still has more float than the right, and the clicking is still present.   I have 2 pairs of shoes, and it makes the clicking noise with both pairs of shoes.  Almost feels like my cleat is going to pop out at the top of each stroke.  Thoughts?

  • I just opened an account to reply to you.  There is a youtube video of someone having same issue.

it seems vector 3 also had same issue as well.   The issue is the pedal itself is wearing out REALLY FAST!  Contact Garmin and get it replaced.

I want to buy this pedals and actually yesterday I passed by my local store and was very close to buying them lol  but I just do not want to be replacing the body of the pedal every 5K miles.

I don’t understand why Garmin cant make the pedal body as durable as Shimano.

  • Well that’s disappointing.

  • Look for Veloharmony  in youtube and watch his latest video.

  • Hi ! If you are continuing to experience a "clicking" feeling, please reach out to your region's support at support.garmin.com

  • Did that, thanks for the quick response,  support team was very helpful!

  • I've been using the 200 SL version of these pedals for about 5 months (less than 1k miles) and have noticed a clicking sound from both pedals when climbing out of the saddle.  The cleats have been recently replaced with new and are secure.  There seems to be a lot of sideways play in the back section of the pedals where they grasp the cleat.

  • I have the same issue to a RS200.

After 100-150K the left pedal start to squeak.

    The RS200 did not work.

Just 1-2 times in 10 rides or so.

Due to poor quality and the fact that Garmin stated that they will send a second hand (refurbished, is the same) pair if i send them to warranty, i asked for the money back and received.

The problem was that i have received a hardware that did not worked from brand new and if i send them to warranty i receive a second hand one. Revolting.
