Time data field and Blank Data Screen

Hi I have two questions regarding EDGE MTB

1. I thing there is a small bug in "Elapsed Time" data field. When the Elapsed Time (time of ride) is visible in a small window, after exceeding 1 hour of riding, there are still visible only minutes and seconds and information what HOUR is it is just a tiny number in the upper left corner (this little number is definitely too small). In previous EDGA models, after exceeding 1 hour of riding, the minute fields changed to hours and the second fields to minutes, and the seconds disappeared. And that was good because why do I need information about seconds when hours and minutes are important, especially when you're participating in an ultra marathon that lasts over 10 hours. Of course, I can change the view to a larger window, but even there, a number larger than 9 won't fit.

2. During a typical ride without training, navigation, or other options, after a while a "Blank Data Screen" appears. When I start riding, I can browse all the data screens but after a while extra Blank Data Screen appears.

  • #1: this tiny hour number is the new UI in all x40 series (and probably in x50 and MTB also) , there was "complains" about it 2.5-3y ago . probably there is ConnectIQ datafield with different design.

#2: in the used activity profile's setting, you need to check what kind of datapages are active/set. (and you can guess it from the order what is this "blank" one)

  • #1 Unfortunately I'm not able to find a data field that will fix that problem at ConnectIQ that is compatible with EDGE MTB. Do you know what was the purpose for that UI chain? I've noticed strange thing when I'm pausing an activity. Look at the photo, additional numbers appear in the TIME field, which disappear while riding. It seems that this is some kind of error, because what is the point of these numbers, which I think are hundredths of a second?

#2 Thanks, it looks like your advice helped.

  • If you configure a page so that the time of day field is full screen width then it should give you the format you are looking for.

  • Partially, yes, but this is not a satisfactory solution, and besides, even a large field cannot accommodate a number larger than 9 in "hours" . Thanks anyway.
