Run different timing gate sets during one activity

I was just doing my first runs and testing the new timing gate function.
I really like it and it was one of the main reasons for me to get the edge mtb. But I might be stupid but I can only do one set of gates per activity?

So I was recording a E-MTB Activity on my after work tour.
This tour includes two trails. For each trail I setup a series of gates. While I am in my activity I started the timing for trail one and did some laps there which worked fine.
After that I wanted to do the same for trail two but this didn´t work. The edge told me I would have to start a new activity to start my other set of gates.

Is this the way it is intended?

  • Sorry to be so megative again but i feel like this unit was designed by someone who thinks they know what an mtber would want but possibly isnt one themselves.

So most common type of mtber is an xc/enduro type rider, if you use the non enduro profile you dont get 5hz on descents, if you use the enduro mode to have 5hz on descents you then have to somehow remember to press the lap button before each descent and climb, i just cant remember, sure im not the only one.

This makes the 5hz capabilities obsolete for me. Another reason i bought it gone.

Please accept that these are only minor changes that could be implemented to completley turn this unit around to being the best thing ever. Hope someone listens.

  • Again where the marketing does not match the feature. Most launch day reviews have something like this:

"The default fidelity for Garmin's computers is 1 Hz (1 reading per second) but when in descending mode, Edge MTB automatically kicks into 5 Hz mode. This will let you see trail lines in greater detail and improve accuracy, but also drains your battery faster and creates larger GPX files - both worthwhile tradeoffs given some of the user profiles for this computer."
