What is limited in battery saver mode?

I am wondering what will turn off during the battery saver mode on this Edge unit that it will get almost double the battery? Is it still usable as GPS computer? And is it possible to charge the unit with a USB-C cable during ongoing ride?

most likely same as edge 840

Thanks but this answer is quite useless for those without Edge 840. Meanwhile I found quite handy table in Garmin Support Center Edge MTB Battery Life Assumptions.
