You're not keeping your finger on the pulse. Firmware 30.19 could have caused serious problems because it posed the risk of the device entering a diagnostic loop. The last version my garmin connect with the Garmin Venus was 29.22 Do you have the reference to that firmware version?

It looks that could be a bad combination between newer Garmin Edge firmware version vs older Garmin Venu firmware.

I updated the Garmin Venu to the newest version (5.10) and It was detected by the Garmin Edge.

I need the 30.23 file to update manually. My device won't update via phone or computer. Need it now. Can't use it and going on 2 wwek ride vacation

I’m also having a problem updating my Edge Explore 2 from software version 24.56 to a newer version.

The first time, a notification appeared automatically on the device via Bluetooth and the Garmin Connect app on my phone, saying that an update was available and asking whether I wanted to install it.

I confirmed the installation, but nothing happened afterward. Since then, the device has not offered any newer software update.

I then connected the device to my computer using the latest version of Garmin Express. There, I encountered an issue with insufficient storage space for the map update. I resolved this by deleting the old maps and keeping only the required .img files. After that, the map update completed successfully.

However, even with the updated maps installed, neither the device itself nor Garmin Express offers an update to a newer software version.

Ialso manually copied the latest 30.23 GUPDATE.GCD file to the device. The device recognizes the file and offers the option to install it.

However, when I press Install, it enters a loop and returns to the installation dialog, offering to install the same update again. After restarting the device, it is still running version 24.56. The option to install version 30.23 appears again, but the same installation-dialog loop occurs every time.

I then deleted the GUPDATE.GCD file. After that, neither the device nor Garmin Express offered any firmware updates. Garmin Express only shows the available map installation or update options.

Is there anywhere I can download older Edge Explore 2 GUPDATE.GCD firmware files, such as versions 26.17, 26.18, or 29.22, so I can try updating past version 24.56 in smaller steps?

Or anyone found a solution for this issue, or is there a way to force Garmin Express to check for and reinstall the latest firmware?

MR.NZIP I had the same issue - trying to go from 24.56 to 30.32 and ending up in the loop. The SOLLUTION that worked for me (and allowed me to update smooooothly to 30.32) was -> 

- manual copy of the 30.23 GUPDATE.GCD file to the device

- restart the device -> the loop will apear

- connecting the device to Garmin Express -> and in "Other Items" you should see a "Change Log" to be installed

- install the Change Log, disconect device from computer, restart the Explorer and enjoy the update

Success! Finally get update from 24.56 to 31.33. 

Garmin Express - shows no update. 

But from device get notification about 31.33 availability, many tries to success download from very slow BT, but got downloaded. Also installation process was no errors. Done.
