MTB Profile for EX2

Dear Garmin,

Could you please add an “MTB Profile” for Garmin Edge Explore 2? No editing is required, it is only needed to record MTB cycling activities and save data to Garmin Connect and Strava without editing after the ride.

I hope you will be able to do this in future versions of FW.

Best regards,

Olekasndr

  • Yeah, i'll add this:

Keep the 3 profiles, but let the user rename them and set the activity type for each.

People with e-mtb would be able to set the outdoor profile to e-mtb. I would set it to MTB, someone else maybe gravel. Just save us the hussle of manually editing after each ride!

As for the road profile, if set it to bike commute, or just bike.

  • It still baffles me that it litterally says on the box "Touring GPS Cycling Computer" yet has no touring activity profile, despite the activity type existing on other Edge devices and on my watch.

I would also love being able to actually use the indoor profile, e.g with GPS.

I also don't get why they went with road / gravel when they could've went with a very generic "cycling" activity type that also exists and is applicable for everything.

  • Yeah, and what's also annoying is the name the system automatically gives to the activities. When I run it's "City name run" but with ee2 it's "ROAD"

Also it's strange that my watch has more cycling activity types than the edge... And again, I understand that it only has 3 profiles, just let us use all the different cycling activity types!

  • That's odd, for me it uses the regular naming scheme "city - type" so like "[City] Road cycling" or "[City] | Gravel bike".

Now I save the activities on my watch instead of the EE2 to get more data and more profiles but I'm positive both use the same naming scheme.

I seem to recall it can be configured but I cannot remember where I've seen this.

  • Yes, but it's set for me. You set it here: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings/displayPreferences and mine is set to: Activity Name: Location & Device activity name

I think it works sometimes, but doesn't work most of the time.
