Not able to install the Komoot App (or any apps)

I just bought a new Edge Explore 2, connected it to my iPhone, using the Garmin Connect and the Connect IQ apps and, as well, installed the Garmin Express app on my computer. I would like to install the Komoot app. I tried this directly on the device, via the Connect IW app and via Garmin Express/the Website, but either get a notification that I should update the Edge Explorer 2 (which I already did, version 27.13 is installed) or it seems to start the installation process, but nothing happens.

Does anyone have the same problem or a solution?

  • My guess is if this is a new device (not 2nd hand) that you'll need to do a firmware upgrade first. In theory that should work via the Bluetooth, but it would take days, and probably fail, so it's better to do it via Garmin Express and the USB cable, then try again the app install

  • I have a similar problem on an Edge 840. I managed to update the firmware (took around 3h), but afterwards installing apps in Connect IQ fails without error message. The app page just reverts back to having an "Install" button for the app, nothing else happens.

  • Which app is it?

I have the same experience with an app I used for a long time. It was free until recently, but it's a paid app now. Somehow this change causes this "install" loop.

  • I have the same Problem and i dont know how to fix it. Has anyone a solution to this?
