On my new Edge Explore 2 I am struggling to get it to work as I want as a basic no frills sat nav. My use case is creating a route in Cycle Travel, transferring it to the Garmin, then riding it. Simple. So I am mainly disabling stuff I do not want and 90% of the User Manual is useless to me.
However there is one thing that I do want and I think should work, but I cannot enable it and can find no guidance in the manual i.e. some audio beep of upcoming turn, and another sound to indicate off route.
If I am out on my bike I do not want to be looking at my Garmin screen all the time, NO. However I do want an audio notification of upcoming turn and more importantly a sound to indicate that I have departed from the course. However there are no audio warnings, just stuff on the screen
I have Tones ON, and Navigation Alerts ON I have turn guidance ON and off course Warnings ON, but these just seem to be visual on the screen, no audio beeps/tones.
I see this as just basic functionality that all Sat Navs should be capable of, indeed everything I have used in the past does this. When researching my purchase a review that I read indicated that it should do this.
However it is completely mute, even if I cycle for a km after a turning before I notice my mistake on the display.
Surely this must be possible, how do I get it to do this?
