Why my Edge Explore 2 with latest firmware does not show all of the user added course points?

While planning the course in GC I add 5-7 course points to get general idea how far I have remaining to those checkpoints. The issue is that out of that 5-7 points, when I start the course, not all of them are shown on the list.

Any idea how to get around this?

  • Today, I've tried to upload screen captures. But as the device crates them as bmp large files, they don't fit into one post.

You can combine them in an editor (I like paint.net on Windows).

I also tried to convert them to png or jpg, but than I run in other problems.

I have no idea what you are doing but it's easy enough to convert them to PNG/JPG.

  • You appear to be making the course planning process overly complicated and as @dpawlyk suggests, it would be simpler to use a course planner that explicitly supports course points.

If you want to use other planners, then it might be better to import the basic course GPX without any other extras into GC web and add the custom course points there.

Converting courses between different formats may cause unpredictable results, which is what I believe you might be doing.

For example, CP’s in a course created in GC web and exported as FIT behave as expected and are displayed in the CP screen with their distances. If the course is exported as a GPX and loaded onto the device, the CP screen will not be there at all as expected.

However, if a copy of the same course is exported as a GPX, then imported back to GC and then exported again as a FIT, the CP screen now shows those points with zero distances, even though they are no longer CP’s.
