Garmin Edge Explore 2 power bundle. I will be using my edge for some long, multi day off-road events so battery life and good navigation are essential. My edge is linked to a big power bank and set to battery saving mode. The backlight is set to turn off after 30 seconds. When following a course in the dark when a turn is due I hear the beep but the backlight does not come on so I have no idea what the turn directions are unless I tap the screen. Apparently some of the more expensive edge units had an update over two years ago to fix the problem. My explore is running system 6.05 and is showing that no updates are available.
