Edge Explore 2 is not connected to MacBook after upgrade to v.25.25.

I have had a problem with the purchased Garmin Edge Explore 2 since 1.2.2025, which was also updated to FW 25.25 on 1.2. Before that, I had version 24.21 in November and everything worked perfectly fine. After connecting to the MacBook, the device was updated with the Garmin Expres app (currently version 7.23.0.0). (bfb63b22f)), its unplugging and its own installation of the update, when there appear to have been other updates to some parts of the applications, since I was making the last connection on 22.11.2024. When connecting to the MacBook Pro 16" with MacOs Sequioa v. 15.3, the device first showed up normally in finder and went into his file. However, in the course of subsequent connection and updates, the finale situation has reached the point that the EDGE Explore 2 device will now not appear as connected at all, although a USB connection icon will appear on its screen. It's not visible in a MacBook, not even in a disk utility. I've tried this in other MacBook daughters and sons-in-law, and it doesn't work anywhere.

  • This is because the Explore 2, together with the different Edge models of the x40-series and the 1050, now all work in the MTP mode for file-transfer since the latest firmware updates. You can read issues caused by MTP on many places on this forum, specially when related to MacBooks. Try search for OpenMTP in the search area beside the GARMIN logo on top of this screen.

You may try external programs like OpenMTP or MacDroid. I'm a Windows user and MTP has some drawbacks, but much less compared to MacOS.

  • Yes, I found it too. *** solve. I tried OpenMTP which is not functional and MacDroid is not free. I use Finder and Forklift, so I want to find it anyway. I bought EDIT EDGE Data too in past and I'm disappointed now.
