Ideas for Explore 3...

Hi all,

I recently looked at getting an Explore 2 in some detail, especially in comparison to the Edge 840. I don't need most of the extra capabilites of the 840, but a couple of things put me off the Explore 2, so I thought I'd mention them here, just in case it influences the Explore3...!

Non-replaceable mount connector - I'd be concerned about damaging this, and being unable to swap it
No ambient light sensor - bit of a hassle having to adjust light settings on-the-fly when cycling at dusk/night

I appreciate adding these would increase cost, but would be good inclusions IMO.

Let them fix the known bugs on ee2 first, and then you'll still have some resources to add new features, and only then ee3

I have a lot to add to this list, most of it is on the software side of devce....but here are some that my mind connects with the "explore" in the name:

- compass sensor installed

- ambient light sensor +1

- more capable track/waypoint use (something in line with handheld devices)

- Di2 connectivity

Most of these are present in existing higher-end edges, do you think that you'll get these and pay the same price as ee2?

Yes, that is what I expect to pay for in EE3. It is called progress.

I would be happy if I could change the colors of the distance still to be traveled and the distance already covered in the settings on the map displayed.

ad1. non replecable mount alse makes me little nervous, i hope it wont breake by it selfe :D

ad2. i dont use backlightlight, i ride 99% during the daylight when backlight is not needed
