I bought an edge explore. im new to this. everytime I tried to update my software which is stuck to 4.30 only the maps gets updated in Garmin express. when I try to put komoot in connect IQ store it always says this --to get the latest version of this app, you must update your edge explore in garmin express---   I hate buying this Garmin. it seems im stuck

    You could try this:
    - remove / uninstall all IQ Apps from the Explore
    - switch off connection to the smartphone
    - do a full factory reset of the device
    - check if a file GUPDATE.GCD is present in the folder ..\Garmin. If yes, remove the file
    - remove any file from ..\Garmin\NewFiles
    - USB wire the device to a PC with Garmin Express installed & let GE update the firmware (no maps at this time). The latest firmware for the EE is version 5.40

    If everything is working as should be, then think of installing extra's like IQ Apps.

    Thank you, what made it work was to remove Garmin express from my computer and then reset my Garmin and then updated to latest version. I can now use Komoot but when I travel it's just the straight line and arrow that I could see and no detailed map like the ones you see in city mapper or Garmin in YouTube. Anyway as long as I could use it. Maybe I'll discover more while using it.

    the navigation line with arrows is a joke, you need to have eyes of falcon .
