Edge Explore 2, font size on hazard alerts

First off, I am very happy that you have chosen to include the hazards participation Using the Edge Explore 2. Took my first ride using it last evening and encountered a couple noted hazards and even contributed one myself.

But...

Font size and positioning of the alerts on this screen makes them essentially unreadable while riding, therefore not useful, I'm not going to full stop to squint at it every time one comes in, especially with the alert radius that these seem to appear at.

Also, some greater explanation of the feature would be helpful as far as screen elements, icons, perhaps dismissing alerts, How long alerts stay on the screen etc. I enjoy new features, but I enjoy them more if they don't appear as a surprise :-)

Great idea, but work in progress, "waze for cycling" need to work for everyone!

  • Agreed, It's a bit too small to read whilst riding. A slight change in the colours, from the white on red text to improve contrast would also help.  Otherwise a great feature..

  • Yeah even in Waze the reporting of hazards is one of the biggest hazards. I am pretty sure there are some real accidents happening because drivers try to figure out the UI while driving....

  • And please make the new hazard screen auto timeout for errant taps of the screen.

For the love of all sanity, all screens should timeout, e.g., "Stop Course," "Resume Navigation." If anyone is trying to make a change, they will actively engage with the device to do so, but anyone who accidentally taps the screen shouldn't have to actively reset back to the original screen. It's such a stupid default setting.

  • Excellent point! The Stop Course & Resume Navigation prompts popping up constantly are very annoying.
