2-way route with manual mapping causes load error?

Had a strange error loading a Strava route using Garmin Express on a PC and the USB-C port.  I had built a 100k route that had a section I used both outbound and inbound, and that was not a marked road so I had to use the Manual Mode in Strava to draw that part of the route.  When I tried loading it to the EE2 the EE2 showed the name and mileage but not the elevation or the map graphic.  Tried renaming, redrawing, no luck.  I finally redrew the route in Strava without that section and it loaded normally.

I've done out-and-back routes on roads that worked normally, and Manual Mode routes that worked normally, but this was the first time I tried a section that was both.  Has anyone else seen this?

  • It's so funny that you seem to point on the reason it didn't work, still you write about other reason that worked for you in other rides. Obviously it's not caused by "out and back" route, as it worked for you. What was new in this ride according to you is that it had a section that was hand drawn in the "middle of nowhere". It sounds like it has no elevation data for that section. You can easily check it by removing that section and letting Strava connect them automatically. Does the resulting route have elevation and map graphic?
