Garmin Edge Explore Black screen during ride

Hello

I have a question about the Garmin Edge Explore (the first version, NOT the second version). It happens sometimes that during the ride my Garmin Edge Explorer becomes unresponsive. I can still hear sounds, but the screen won't show up anymore. After a restart I can mostly just continu my route again. But sometimes when I restart my full route is gone and it just sends me back from where I started.

Any idea on how I can resolve this issue? I have it almost on every ride and it becomes a bit frustrating (definetly when I lose my random route).

Can I downgrade the version of the software to a version where the issue is not in or something?
