New beta(?) software 24.05 for Edge Explore 2

Just to announce here for those who are not in the beta program. The Change log is a rather long list with improvements and new functions.

    As a member of the Public Beta program, this update will be automatically delivered to your Edge through GCM. Please note that GCM will check for an available update once every 24 hours, and after that it may take several hours for the update to finish transferring and be available on your device to install, subject to the rollout percentage.

    • Added Garmin Share.
    • Added Hazards support. Get alerts for road hazards reported by fellow cyclists and contribute your own edits.
    • Added Surface Type support including on the map, in-ride unpaved road alerts, and post-ride summary.
    • Updated grade algorithm to be much more responsive.
    • Added support for India basemap.
    • Added gear presets for SRAM 12 speed cassettes.
    • Added a QR code to quick link to pair a Strava account with Garmin Connect.
    • Improved phonetic and hand-writing keyboard input.
    • Fixed USB connection detection when coming out of suspend mode.
    • Fixed incident detection countdown timeout notification priority over any other notifications.
    • Fixed infinite elevation calibration prompt following a manual calibration.
    • Removed tone from elevation calibration prompt.
    • Fixed pausing navigation.
    • Improved speed of city search.
    • Added search alias support to improve location searching.
    • Fixed ride button failing to show after receiving and reviewing a Connected POI.
    • Fixed friendly name for phone pairing.
    • Remove "Share to X" item from the LiveTrack menu.

    My EE2 is much more laggy after update.

    Thanks for the change log, there are some cool new features BUT when are they gonna fix sensor connection issues after sleep mode? Still nothing wtf!!

    Just screen refresh rate I think. 21.18 is about 40 FPS, this beta feels like only 10-20 FPS.

    Hi there,

    Sorry for my noob question. I just got a new Edge Explore 2 (received today) and made a sync / update via Garmin Connect on my mobile phone. The device as been updated to software version 24.05. However, i'm not part of the beta program... Strange.

    Any clue ?
