Explore 2 turns itself on

I always shut down the device by holding the power button and choosing the shutdown option. However, there are times when I attempt to start the device on a different day, and it simply wakes up from sleep mode, indicating it must have turned on by itself beforehand.

Do you have a similar experience?

  • Never noticed anything like this with my unit. Three potential reasons come to my mind:

    1. The power button is pressed inadvertently, for example when transporting the device in a cramped bag.
    2. The power button is damaged and triggers by itself.
    3. You fail to notice, that the device powers on when unplugging from charging.
  • or i was sleepwalking and turned it by myself Rofl

  • Sometimes a have the same feeling. I my option starts the advice to quickly - and does not feel like a complete boot more like awaking. But it is possible the garmin had built the best device in the world ;-)

  • I have just gone to bed, and my phone has just received a message that the live track has started downstairs, but I have not been out for 2 weeks. I always turn it off when I finish a ride. If I had left it on it would have gone off before now

It also has a bad habit of auto starting a ride. As soon as I discard it, another one starts. It's like a race between me and the device to see if I can power it off before a new ride starts again, they are glitchy things,

  • There is a setting called “Activity Auto Start”or something like that. If the device is not turned off but only in sleep mode, the activity can start due to an incorrect GPS signal.
