Battery life and touchscreen in rain

Hi, I have some questions before buying. I am deciding between this and the Edge 830.

Have you used Explore 2 with navigation on all-day rides? I mean 12-13 hour rides. Is this device capable of navigation + recording tracks of that length?
How is it with controlling the touchscreen in the rain or with a wet display?"

1. Yes, but battery life is depending on the firmware version and update issues. One version is perfect, one is draining battery, next one is ok, etc.
2. No mayor issues. Rain can affect touchscreen, but one wipe and it is back to normal.

I used it on an 8 days tour and not every night could charge it, but was ok. If you go for 24 hours or 2 days of 12 hours, you should be fine (maybe the installed data fields will have some effect).

If you go multi day, then maybe you'll want an external battery and a cable. I could use it in the tent during the night even where wasn't a wall charger.

I am on latest firmware and its been fine the last 350km since install. For battery make sure to power off when not using. It may just be in sleep mode which does use battery. It is fine for 12-13 hours, in battery save you can get up to 30 hours.

You decide in settings from

Do nothing other than alert off course

Auto recalculate to get you back on the course

Prompt to recalculate

Little off topic, but does the Edge 530 know how to recalculate as well?
