Explore 2 Ride Timer problem

Just started using a new Explore 2 and after 60 minutes of riding the timer rolls over to zero and starts timing from zero again.

The Timer display has 4 digits: 00:00 and apparently can only display up to 59 minutes:59 seconds before flipping back to 00:00.

I typically ride for several hours and this is not acceptable.

I can't find anything in the manual that addresses this.

I saw a post online that after 1 hour the timer resets but shows a very small "1" in the top of the window above the minutes:seconds.

I do not see this on my device.

How do I time rides in excess of one hour with this device?

  • Can it be that you have Lap timing enabled (Auto Lap ON with Auto Lap Trigger 'By Time' - Lap At 1:00:00)? Lap settings are under 'Alerts and Prompts', section 'Activity'. Riding in this mode indeed will reset the timer after 1 hour.

  • Thank you!

I believe I have Auto Lap disabled but I am going to check the settings with your information on hand and ride again today.

I will post again after I ride with these settings.

  • Try a wider data field.  It only shows what you are describing in half width DF, but choose a full width one and it shows hours as well.

  • Thanks for that information, I rechecked all my settings and now I am seeing a very, very small hour(s) numeral displayed in the upper left edge of the minutes and seconds field after it rolls over every 60 minutes. I will keep your advice in mind next time I rearrange the fields displayed.
