External Memory Card?

I have an old Edge Touring... not one of the options listed... in the forum... I think the Edge Explore 2 is the closest model to what I have.

I'm also using a Mac.

I put in an external memory card... years ago.

When I did this, a new volume/disk was created called No Name.  And it is on this volume that I see the folder New Files.

No problem... for years... I'd load my courses into this folder on this volume and they'd show up on my Garmin.

Now - there s like no space on No Name.

There is lots of space on the Garmin volume, but there is no folder on this volume called New Files... I can't figure how to load my courses onto this volume.

No Name seems to be filled with map files.... which I'm not sure that I really need... but, I'm afraid to delete them.

Any advice how to 'save' my Edge Touring computer... i.e. how to manage the storage and how to load files?

Thanks

  • On the SD card:
Maps belong in the ..\Garmin folder (*.img; *.gma; *.unl).
Courses (tracks or routes) must be copied to the folder ..\Garmin\NewFiles. From there the device converts the loaded course into a Course and places it in the folder ..\Garmin\Courses as a .fit file.
The SD card has to be formatted FAT32 and may not exceed 32GB - Class 4 works, class 10 is max.. Card type should be SDHC (not SDXC).
The maximum number of courses on the device AND the SD card is 100.

If you use a Mac then you need to empty the waste bin (or how it is called...). If you don't do this the waste bin eats all the free space on the SD card during use, which can result in new courses not being accepted anymore.
