Calculating 0%

If I chose Navigate or Location search my Explore 2 won’t calculate a route. It always stuck at "Calculating 0%" or just "Calculating". Even if my destination point is only 300m away from my starting point.

And after that I can't power it off, it freezes on power off display. And after that I must hold for 10 seconds to turn on device.

Already made factory reset with no success. Anyone with similar problem?

No.

This problem isn't fixed in this firmware. This firmware have and causes this problem.

FYI firmware 5.09 is live from 13.7.2022 as wrote in original post.

I don't understand why garmin posted a notice for a month old firmware.
I haven't seen anything like this before, so I thought if it's possible they've included some additional fixes.

No need to be angry about the late notification of the new firmware.

No need to be angry about that. It is just weird that garmin posted a notice for a month old firmware.

Especially now that we are expecting a new firmware with fixes.

Navigate to location works better with 6.04 firmware. I tried 4 locations and 3 of them are ok, but for one location calculating stops at 73% and after about 1 minute I get "Route calculation error.".

With previous firmware nothing of that worked.

Hi Eric,

I just got my Explore 2 today and I`m experiencing the same behavior though I did some further testing. My findings below:

1. "Calculating" freeze starts whenever I use "LOCATION SEARCH" or the addresses I used to look for in "Recent Finds" functionality (none of those will finish route calculations). After that I can try to pick a location from the map or POI and the "Calculating" freeze is also there.

2. Persists until next hard reset (regular one won`t work because it ends with the power logo freeze, as OP stated) + you need to do "Stop Navigation" from "Controls" (Status Panel).

3. After that I can pick a location from a map or POI using "NAVIGATION" feature and it will calculate properly.

4. For now only using "LOCATION SEARCH" or the addresses I used to look for in "Recent Finds" trigger the bug for me.

I`m in Poland and on 5.09 FW version. FW 6.04 nor 6.05 are not available for me.
