Map Orientation

This Explore 2 user review on another site mentions, " It's also nice to have one-touch switching between Track Up and North Up" so presumably (?) it works?

There have been posts on the 1040 forum relating to map rotation / compass issues when stopped and similar would perhaps be worse on the Explore 2 as it does not have a compass?

PS: But there is no mention in the 1040 forum  (to-date 440 threads) about the orientation not working while moving.

The Explore 2 benefits from having a subset of the 1040 software so probably "benefits" from the same bugs and hopefully benefits from the timely correction of these. (after they have been beta tested on the 1040)?

I would make sure Garmin knows about this  by calling Support, they may never see it here!

There is still no Garmin admin post regarding the contents of the Explore 2 version 5.09 update so we don't know if any issues in the 1040 updates over the last 8 weeks in 12.11, 12,15, 12,16 & 14.12 (beta) are relevant to Explore 2 issues.

I assume they mean the compass arrow on the map screen?

As was mentioned - click on compas icon change the orientation (north/top). Is this helpful? - depends on your habits

But the function has two BUGs:
 - switching the orientation with the "compass" does not change the setting in the settings section.
 - the new orientation works not only to the end of this course, but also with all next courses (no matter what we have set in the profile settings)
