Sram AXS GX/ X01 rear gear keeps dropping

As per title, Sram AXS GX/ X01 rear gear display intermittently keeps disconnecting/ goes back to 1/12 on display screen while riding.

Will have to change gears to reconnect and it will display properly again. 

Below pic I'm supposed to be in 7/12 rear gear

Edge 850: FW7.10

GC: 5.17.2

Phone: Samsung S24 Ultra/ Android 15

    This might be due to the aggress battery saving strategy employed by SRAM. If you stop for more than about 30 seconds it stops broadcasting.

    Is it dropping out while you are moving or only when stopped?

    Hi aweatherall,

    It happens while riding. Therefore derailleur should be awake as the whole bike is shaking.

    A friend who bought an Edge 850 together with me also encounters the same issues.

    This does not happen on my edge 830 and 840 previously.

    Currently the rear gear display works fine on my Fenix 8 watch, thus I suspect it could be issues or bugs in early Edge 850 firmware.

    I would suggest reaching out to Garmin Support and get them to enable logging of the ANT radio traffic for investigation.

    On my second ride out, I notice when I'm riding constantly on any gears etc 7/12 or 8/12.

    After about 3 minutes (without changing to other gear speed) it will "timeout" and goes to 1/12 screen for the rear gear display screen.

    This does not happen on my Edge 830/ 840 which I had previously before upgrading to Edge 850.

    Hopefully Garmin can resolve this issue quick.
