don't get navigation prompts unless i'm on map screen

Hello,

I used my Garmin Edge 840 for the first time today.

When I was on screen 1, the map didn't pop up before a turn nor it didn't send text prompts.

    It should show direction pop-ups.

    Check that you have actually started a route, which you can do by looking at the map screen and seeing if there is a highlighted route.  Secondly check that you are on that route, because if you've left the route and not chosen recalculate it will auto-pause navigation. Also go to Navigation\Courses\ click on the three dots and check that turn guidance is enabled.
