Duplicate intensity minutes

Hi everyone!

I use the Garmin Venu 3S to transmit my heart rate to my Garmin bike computer.

With the Garmin Edge 520 Plus (which didn't track intensity minutes), I never encountered any issues with data recording (screenshot from November 23rd).

With the Garmin 840, however, (which tracks intensity minutes), the intensity minutes are doubled at the end of the activity (screenshot from December 8th).

Is there a setting I can adjust to resolve this issue?

  • IDK if this is the answer to what you're asking, but Garmin doubles the intensity minutes for high intensity activities. As a result, my bike rides and workouts always show twice the actual activity time.

"Garmin devices double the intensity minutes for high (vigorous) intensity activities to reflect their greater health benefits, aligning with health guidelines like the WHO's recommendation of 150 moderate or 75 vigorous minutes weekly."

  • I am having similar issue. Seems to be some kind of glitch on the Garmin Connect server-side of things.

  • I can confirm I see the same exact issue here, with a Fenix 6X Pro used for running activities.

Although the duration of the activity is tracked fine, like today I ran 48':36", when I check the intensity minutes section, it doubles the duration of an already doubled up duration, resulting in 4x the amount of minutes I actually ran. This to me looks like a bug, rather annoying though!
