Course + instructions disappear after deviating from course

Recently I've encountered the following problem. 

1. Load a course
2. Deviate from course
3. No message that I'm not course anymore OR questions whether I want to pause/stop navigation of course.
4. When I look on the map, the course is not visible anymore.
5. Even when I'm back on course, it doesn't automatically enable navigation again.
6. To overcome this issue, I have to manually resume navigation.

Earlier, there was no issue with deviating from course as it would indicate this and resume navigation as soon as I would be back on the course again. The only change I did was recently update to the latest firmware/software version of my Edge 840. It also resetted various settings incl all my previous (device) records. My goal is to get a message when I deviate but also that my device automatically resumes navigation when I'm back on course.

    Hi,

    I have the same issue with my forerunner 965 when following a course. 

    Once deviated too far due to road blocks I get a 'course fault' and the course is stopped.

    If i get back on course the course does not appear again. I have to stop my workout and load the course again to resume.

    I can't remember having this problem in the past.

    Does anyone have a solution for this?

    Weirdly enough but after going through all settings without really changing anything(enable/disable), it is working again as I'm expecting it to work. So perhaps good to do this as well.
