Heart Rate Zones

I have an Edge 840 and a Forerunner 955. I like to calculate my heart rate zones from my %LTHR.

If I reset the zones I get different on Edge and Forerunner. For example:

Zone 1 65-80% on Forerunner and 55-67% on the Edge.

and so on with the other zones.

Why is this different?

    In order to ensure these numbers align you will want to ensure that both devices are set to provide the %LTHR. Additionally you will want to ensure that both devices are set to either Auto Detect heart rate, or if you prefer you can set them both manually.

    which one is the primary training device? i suggest use the FR955 (i have 965 with same combo), i dont have problem with hr or pwr zones in Edge this way.

    Both devices set do %LTHR and have the same numbers of resting HR, LTHR, and MAXHR, Auto detection is off. FR955 is my primary device.

    I would like you to go into the User Profile > Heart Rate Zones for each device and select the 'Reset Zone's'. This should realign the zones: 

    • Z5: >90% of chosen metric
    • Z4: 80-89% of chosen metric
    • Z3: 70-79% of chosen metric
    • Z2: 60-69% of chosen metric
    • Z1: 50-59% of chosen metric

    You will want to ensure that you are reviewing the cycling HR zones on the Forerunner and not the running heart rate zones, as these will be different.

    If you use %LTHR the zones are different to the ones above, I have:

    • Maximum (Z5) >100%
    • Threshold (Z4) 95-100%
    • Aerobic (Z3) 89-95%
    • Easy (Z2) 80-89%
    • Warm Up (Z1) 60-80%

    I think the zones above are if you have selected Max HR?

    On the Edge 840 when I reset the zones I get:

    • Z5: 99-11%
    • Z4: 89-99%
    • Z3: 77-89%
    • Z2: 67-77%
    • Z1: 55-67%

    when using %LTHR

    my Forerunner 955 give me the zones user 1530214 have written.

    I would manually edit the zones so both devices match.  Personally I find the default zones incorrect so I have edited the zones on my Edge.

    I am so confused. 

    After resetting the HR zones on my Edge 840, the zones based on %LTHR are as follows:

    Z1: <71% of LTHR
    Z2: 71–82%
    Z3: 83–93%
    Z4: 94–105%
    Z5: 106–117%

    Why r these different than yours?  Wd like support to weigh in here.
