Edge 840 cannot stop the timer and put in sleep mode after a ride. Please help!

When I try to shut down the device, I get a message that I have to stop the timer before I can do that, but I can't figure out how to stop the timer.  Device just stays on until the battery dies.

    the start/stop button is the bottom right button. You start the ride with that, you can pause/continue also, and stop the ride (ofc the recording can start automatically if you set autostart by movement but there is no autostop, just autopause). do You use this button? so You need to stop and save the ride, and after You can put into sleep mode or in complete shutdown state.

    Hi Luko79, Thank you so much. i've only used the device twice, with the same issue, and now, thanks to you, I have discovered the button. It works!!
