Audio prompts?

In 28.33,

Fix issue with audio prompts not playing in some cases.

What audio prompts? I get audio prompts from my Fenix 7S Pro if I pair my earbuds to my phone BEFORE starting a music app but I've never been able to get audio prompts from my Edge 840.

Connect on phone. It needs to be in background during activity.
In Connect click on device icon and there's Audio Prompts category.

Yes, the 840 has voice guidance for directions, but not very often since update 28.33 and 28.34 :))

That must have been in the log by error. Only the 1050 and 850 support audio prompts.

what RU saying, 840 has audio prompts...but now it's not working beacause of the reason
I think 830 also has it, but can't remember 100%

Like I said first, never heard of any audio prompts on my 840. What do you have to do to activate them?

Thanks, I'll give it a try on my next ride. However, unlike my watch, I'm not offered a choice of voices so is it just audible prompts?

If you have an Android phone, you choose the TTS voice you want to use for the chosen language and that's how you changed the voice.
Yes, it's crazy, compared to Garmin watches where you can choose directly from Garmin Connect or on the watch.
It seems stupid to me to build an ecosystem with different ways of implementing the same function!
