GARMIN 840 does not connect to Garmin Express on MacBook Pro.

I have a Garmin Edge 840 Solar and I can’t get it to connect to Garmin Express on my MacBook Pro (Sonoma 14.5).
I’ve already tried installing Android File Transfer, but that workaround isn’t working either.
Could someone help me solve this issue?

From other accounts I've read, when it comes to MTP access on Mac only one application can do it at a time. Did you try force closing AFT and Connect, then opening only Connect?

Are you on Garmin Express v7.27.0?

The way I do this (on a Mac) is:

* First quit all MTP applications on the Mac, including Garmin Express.

* Power off the 840.

* Connect it to the Mac directly (not through a hub) using the Garmin supplied cable.

* 840 powers on. Wait until the little eject symbol appears on the face of the 840, on the right side, this can take a minute or two, be patient. Once that eject symbol appears, then open Garmin Express. For me, on two different Macs, the 840 connects and checks for software updates, syncs, etc.
