Hello@All! Is there anybody out there knowing about wiring the On-/Off switch of an edge 800?
Or do know a source of getting a wiring diagram?
Thank you in advance!

IDK about the 800 per se, but in other Garmin Edge units the battery is connected to the device by two wires. Putting a switch in one of those would certainly turn it off. IDK how the device would respond…

IDK how the device would respond when power is applied again, but I assume it would boot up. You can find Youtube vids on replacing the batteries which show this.
Hi, thank you for being interested in my small project, I'm notorious in. My thoughts are similar, and you're right: as I built it together today, just for fun, it worked, but stopped after having connected it to the computer for copying all data. My next stepps are drilling very small holes through the Platinum there where the solder-points of the switch are located, in order of soldering a small smd switch. It's a try, it could get better only. What do you think about it?

IDK. It's certainly doable, and would require some craft to make it waterproof if anticipating wet conditions. Why are you doing it?
As a challenge, personally, only. It's like Apollo 13: repairing with things in your workshop. I don't like buying everything new always.
Thanks a lot!
