I recently purchased a Garmin Edge 840 (standard model, non-Solar) and I'm experiencing a strange issue with the screen brightness settings.
I’ve installed the latest software update via Wi-Fi and also tried updating again using Garmin Express, but the issue persists:
When I set the brightness to 20% or 30%, the screen is brighter than when it's set to 40% through 60%.
At 80%+, the brightness jumps back to a higher and seemingly correct level.
It feels like the brightness scaling is not working properly, or there may be a hardware issue with the display.
I also performed a full factory reset (Settings > System > Reset > Delete Data and Reset Settings), but the issue remains.
Can you please confirm if this is a known software bug, or if it may be a defect in the unit? I’d appreciate your guidance on whether there’s a fix available or if a replacement might be necessary.
