Today right at the end of a ride, my Edge 840 ran out of battery and shut down. When I got home, I plugged it in to charge and once it started up, I saved the activity or at least I think I did, in any case, it appeared as a saved activity on the 840. But try as I might, I cannot get this activity to sync. The activity is definitely not still running. I've tried:
- Syncing with the GC app on my phone. Sync seems to work but the activity doesn't come across.
- Removing my phone from the GC app and re-pairing it.
- Restarting the Edge 840 many times.
- Plugging the 840 into my Mac to access the file manually using the file system. The 840 no longer mounts as a drive like it used to so that didn't work.
- I downloaded Garmin Express and added my 840 to it and ran a sync, still no activity.
So it seems that even though I can see the activity on the 840 and it looks like every other activity, there's something about it that GC doesn't like so it ignores it. and because I can't mount the 840 on the desktop any more, I can't access the FIT file manually.
I would add some screenshots but really, it just looks like any saved activity on the 840. As well, screenshots are saved in the file system on the 840 which I can't access so I can't get to them anyway!
I saw someone had suggested using OpenMTP to mount the 840 but when I try that, it just complains that it can't connect to the 'phone' and I see no way to get it to recognise that my 840 is connected via USB.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
