The tour shows up in the history but cannot be opened/viewed. It also won't get synced to Garmin Connect.
Have you tried sync via Wi-Fi? You could still find it in Edge filesystem and upload it manually to Connect.
Yes, I tried syncing via Wifi. There is a file in the Activities folder, but it is only ~30k and doesn't seem to contain any location/sensor data...Any other folder I should check?
And that's the only *.fit file from that day?
Check "TempFIT" folder.
TempFIT folder is empty...
Also look to NewFiles folder. Try to check last few files from Activities folder.
Have you tried to look at the files via www.fitfileviewer.com?
Yes I could extract the overall stats of the ride with fitfileviewer... I copied the basic data into a manually added activity now...
If you have found the file, you can upload it to Connect as it is, with all the data.
I tried this but Connect rejects the file as broken...

You can also try to put it manually to NewFiles folder, Edge should sync it automatically then after a while.
If not, put it to Activities folder, I have done that once with my watches in the past and it worked well.
Also, there is this tool www.fitfilerepairtool.info, but I haven't tried it yet.
