Heart rate zones on data screen

Hi everyone,
On my Forerunner, I have the option to display the current heart rate zone as colored bars on the data screen during an activity (see photo). I can’t seem to find this feature on the Edge 840.
Can anyone help me with this?

Best regards

  • Check under graphical data fields, heart rate bars or HR zone graph. You may need a larger data field box to display it clearly. Not exactly the same, but you may like it.

  • The built-in graphical data fields by Garmin need larger data field boxes - in a small data field box they all only show the digital heart rate and no graphics, at least on my 840. If it is o.k. for you to use a larger data field boxes than you should be fine with the built-in graphical data fields as recommended by 6978990.

If you want to use a small data field box, than you can look for a connect IQ data field like this one:

(there is also a power data field with power zones for small boxes from the same author if you like how it looks)

  • I use the heart rate zone field.  It isn't graphical but I find it better because it converts my heart rate to zones more accurately. If I'm at the front of a fast group, when it gets to 5.0, I know I need to rotate to the back!
