Edge 840 not accepting new Course files in NewFiles folder SW 25.25

When I want to ride a course with turn-by-turn, I will typically download a .fit file from RideWithGps and put it in the `NewFiles` folder on the Garmin. I can then usually access them by going to Navigation -> Courses.

However, this is no longer working for me. After downloading the files and safely disconnecting the device, the route does not appear in the Courses menu. No warning, error messages or anything. This put me in quite a bind.

    I think I've solved it.

    When I download the file from my browser DIRECTLY into the folder, it seems to download... but doesn't actually land in the NewFiles folder. This is probably related to the change to MTP, I think. (Which I'm still livid about)

    If I download the file to my hard drive and then copy+paste into the MTP folder... it works.

    Have you hit the 100 course limit?

    FWIW:  If you link RWGPS to Garmin and "Pin" the course in RWGPS, it will transfer to the 840 wirelessly.  That's what I do.  If you delete it on the 840 but want to reinstate it, unpin it in RWGPS and then Pin it again. The action of pinning it triggers the transfer.

    Nope. I only have about 4 loaded on the device.

    Trying to find another way... linked RWGPS and garmin while standing cold in the parking lot to try and make this work. However, it might not have worked because it was already pinned when I linked the accounts. I guess I needed to un-pin and then pin or something. I'll give that a try.
