NO POWER/CADENCE DATA AFTER UPDATE

After the most recent update. Power reads as zero as well as no cadence information. It shows on Zwift and Wahoo applications. I've removed and added the Powerlink pedals sensor to Garmin-calibrated...still the same issue. Why Garmin after an update? Is there a fix...another update? Frustrated.

  • No worries. Thank you...peeps I ride with are having the same problems...know to report and troubleshoot. I'm sure there are a lot within the garmin/cycling community throughout that are having this problem. Need and looking forward to the fix/another update asap.

  • With your permission, I can access recent rides in your account to see if we can diagnose a cause from the .FIT files. If you can confirm if you are okay with this and provide a couple of dates to look at, that would be extremely helpful.

  • It has been uploaded...adding the powerlink pedals as the only sensor, as well as showing the powerlink pedals power data registering on zwift.

  • The update was on Saturday...so the Saturday and Sunday rides were from Zwift/Wahoo trainer. Tuesday and Friday was data from the Powerlink pedals/Garmin Edge recorded

  •  Allow me to word my request differently.

Can you please provide dates of your rides you have uploaded where you have recorded a ride on your 840, with your Wahoo Pedals as the power source, that showcases this missing data? From the dates provided I am unable to see any examples of this.

Please forgive me if I am looking in the wrong spot, or misunderstood the dates I should be looking at.

EditAfter reviewing the video you uploaded, can you please remove and pair them again to see if the ANT+ connection has the same results?

  • I don't have recorded rides with the missing data uploaded in Garmin Connect. 12/10 and 12/13 were the last 2 rides where Power/cadence was showing/registering...12/14 and 12/15 were power numbers from the trainer as power/cadence was no longer registering. The video files I uploaded shows the live activity with me spinning the cranks and the edge not registering power. The other video shows Zwift registering the power and performing the same action.

  • Had that issue with my Indoor cycling activity. I turned off the Edge by keeping the power button pressed and powered it up again. Relaunched my activity and the power data was back.

  • Without activity files showing us the issue, the videos provided can only get us so far. I apologize for asking so much, but we do not have this model on hand to try and recreate this ourselves, which is why this information is needed.

Are you able to test out my suggestion above of switching this connection to ANT+ and trying again? I see from your video that you are using a BT connection, which is of course supported, I am just interested to hear if both connections result in the same lack of data.

If you can confirm for me when you have uploaded some rides showing this missing data I can retrieve this. Even just a few minutes of riding will be useful. Thank you in advance.

  • I’m at work. Through the day. Yesterday happened to be off. Won’t be able to get to it until the afternoon/pm. Is there not anyone else with the same problem that your engineers can analyze for a fix for all users with this major bug in the meantime? I know many peeps have the same problem since this most recent update. Nonetheless, I will try later on when I return.

  • We have had no additional customers respond to requests for more info. I understand the inconvenience and apologize to ask for so much back and forth from you, we just need more information to diagnose this.

I am unable to recreate this on other power meters, with either ANT+ or BT connections, which is why we will need some more data beyond what you have already shared. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

If the other folks you ride with that have the same symptom can reach out and share logging info/ride files, we can look into this with them as well.
