Basemaps not installed with other maps from Garmin Express

I have been running my Edge 840 with non-garmin maps lately and at the time Garmin Express also removed the basemaps from my device. Now however I want to return to using Garmin maps and I have reinstalled the maps I want through the latest(?) version of Garmin Express, but the basemaps no longer get installed together with the detailed maps. I have tried reinstalling several times but it was of no help sadly.

I'm also on the latest firmware release for my Garmin (and have been on the beta before) so I am using the new transfer protocol.

    I took the file that can be found on these forums by the way so I have solved that part, but still it would be good to know if this is due to the latest versions of Garmin Express/Firmware or not. Also I'm not sure if I now have the most recent versions (if this ever gets updated at all).

    I also get "failed to load baseman" flash up on the splash screen when I turn my 840 on. 

    I've tried a reset also and also reinstalling the Oceania/NZ map but no luck.
