ClimbPro shows non-existent climbs with ridiculous numbers

Hello,

Since I guess a few months both mine as my wife's Edge 840 shows non-existent climbs in ClimbPro, with ridiculous numbers such as 37.000m elevation (see picture). In my last ride I should have ended up on the moon I guess.

The routes are made in Strava Routes and uploaded via bluetooth to the Edge 840. Anyone having a clue what could be the issue here?

Would be able to pull the course file from the Edge and share that. It would be in the Garmin\Courses. I suspect that something may have happened in the transfer process.

Zondag.fit

This file is from the Courses folder on the device. I hope it helps!

The Zondag file is definitely bad. You can see it jump from 0 meters to 12607 meters

The file exported directly from Garmin Connect does not show that

I would suggest deleting it off the unit and put the this file in the Garmin\NewFiles folder on the Edge. This is the file exported directly from Garmin Connect.

Thank you! This is helpful in isolating the problem.

However, I noticed two things. This happens with every route I upload to the 840, whether created by myself or someone else. Additionally, my wife who has a 840 as well has the same issue. The 'climbs' start on the same places in the route. Is this a bug in both devices?

It sounds like a problem with the export/transfer process. At first I thought it might be due to the negative elevation values.

Would you be willing to share the URL to the course in Strava so that I could follow the whole process that you are following.

Sure. These are the steps performed:

1. Create route in Strava: https://www.strava.com/routes/3295450395598659998

2. Sync with Garmin Connect: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/320881816

3. Sync with 840 device via bluetooth: 6837.Zondag.fit

As mentioned earlier, it doesn't seem to matter whether I or someone else created the route; the issue persists on a second Garmin 840 device as well.

I'm able to reproduce the problem. I have opened a support ticket with Garmin.
