I usually use Komoot to plan my routes and sync them with Garmin. I got the Edge 840 and started using the ClimbPro feature. I noticed the start, end and gradients of the climbs were mostly incorrect, with wrong gradients and lengths of climbs, finishing either early or late. This sounded strange because my pals I was cycling with, also with Garmins, had the correct data appearing.
I went on a ride today, and by chance I had planned my tour using Strava, and not Komoot as usual. To my surprise, the ClimbPro was spot-on. This leads me thinking that Komoot is somehow syncing a route with Garmin with some skewed elevation data. I was thinking that Garmin would use their own elevation maps to calculate the ClimbPro, but all makes me think this is not the case.
Has anyone experienced something similar, using Komoot to plan routes?
Thanks,
Matt
