Active calories not sum properly?

Hi,

I have noticed something strange. I use Edge 840 for my cycling activities and recently bought Fenix 8 watch. Since when I wear Fenix I see cycling calories don't sum in daily stats. Looks like a watch has some priority. Whether I ride with the watch or leave it at home - the calories from a ride don't count. It looks like Edge's activity calories are omitted totally. It was all ok before I used watch :/

Do you notice something similar? Here are screens from today - calories graph and recent cycling workout data...

  • I noticed the same with 840+Fenix6. I did not spent time on understanding better but It was strange seing that.

  • This is a long standing issue raised numerous time across different parts of the forums. Garmin seem unable or unwilling to sort it

  • Understand. Thanks. As a temporary workaround I’ve found that NOT wearing the watch while cycling sum properly Edge’s calories.

  • In fact it is not a bug, it is a feature ;-) It works as designed. Your Fenix (Epic, Forerunner, ...) is your primary training device. When you wear it at the same time as recording a ride with your Edge it will take the calories from the watch. Therefore what you have done is not a temporary workaround, it is the solution.

  • I have been cycling with watch left at home, turned off and this worked for me until 2 weeks ago. Got a new phone and problem has started again even with watch off until after edge has synced up post ride. My Edge is the primary training device.
