So, I've been trying to get course sync during an activity to work since switching from a 530 to an 840 and no matter what I do: It simply does not work. A typical setup for my use case is:
- following a route
- (optional) doing a structured workout (doesn't seem to change the outcome)
- I do have Garmin Segment alerts set to active and I do have a few segments loaded to the device
- LiveTrack is active
- with the ride going on for some time trying to send a new course from Garmin Connect (iOS) to the Edge 840
No matter what I do, e.g. whether the current activity is paused or not, no new course appears on the 840 while the activity is still running. Funny enough, sending locations via Apple Maps on iOS works like charm, no issues there.
Does anybody have any tricks to pull this one off? Looks like things are working for Ray (https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2023/05/supports-sending-courses.html) just fine. I am of course on the latest firmware.
