UPDATE:
After trying a lot of things I figured out that despite the 32gb memory the device has a 100 course maximum.
What it does not have is a friendly and clear warning, in Garmin Connect or the device itself, telling you you have reached the maximum.
(figured this out only when connecting the device to my computer and noticing it had exactly 100 files on there)
Hope this helps for anyone with the same issue in the future.

Since 24.xx I am having an issue with some courses not showing up on the device in the course overview. Some do, some don't.
Currently having an issue with the course for tomorrow morning (great!) and it is just not showing up. I have tried:
"send to device" from:
- Garmin connect app (on iphone)
- Garmin connect website (from Chrome)
- Garmin Express app (on Mac)
And the course just does not show up. Send the same course with the same tools to my Garmin watch, and it show up immediately.
As a final option I have downloaded the gpx file from Garmin Connect, and copied it to the Newfiles folder on the Edge 840. Still does not show up in the course overview.
Currently running 24.19, but issue was already there in earlier 24.xx version. (but I thought it was maybe a temporary server issue back then)
Anyone? In particular anyone at Garmin, like Garmin-Blake
