Time issues after pausing activity in Strava Flybys/Group Rides

If I pause an activity (stop button) and switch off my Edge 840 the time seems to be wrong afterwards. Example: Activity paused and garmin switched off for 30mins but the actvitiy timing shows a break for 4 mins. On Strava this leads to wrong flybys and missing group rides since every other rider paused for the full 30min and I'm 'ahead' of them.

Same issue, also elapsed time in garmin connect or strava shows wrong information. This start from the latest update a few days ago. Same thing I can find in logs from friend's edge 1050.

This is the exact same issue on my 540. The newer firmware caused this. Which one, I don’t exactly know.

I have ticket open on this. Garmin said that it is fixed in the next release. I would expect the beta availability to start soon.

The work around is to power it off rather than putting it sleep when pausing an activity for break.
