I’ve been for a variety of rides now (short, long, hilly and flat) in dry/damp/warm/cold conditions using both Edge 840 and Edge 130 units simultaneously.
The 840 always gives significantly higher readings, in the order of 10% to 20%.
My old cheap 130 is more accurate, i.e. it’s readings more closely match those given if I apply Strava Elevation Correction to the 840 reading and also to those given by the OS mapping tool I use to plan routes. Has anyone found a way to improve the 840 total ascent reading accuracy?
