I have recently switched from Lezyne GPS to Garmin for navigating while cycling. One of the reasons was the ClimbPro feature on Garmin. I have planned some routes, usually in Ride with GPS and then imported them into Garmin Connect web app. Later, after saving them in Garmin Connect I have synced them to my Edge 840. What I have noticed is that for longer course the number of climbs listed on the Garmin Connect website is different from the ones which are visible on the device. For example, I have just created a route that show 28 climbs on the website and after syncing it, only 23 are shown on the climb overview for this course in Edge. This is the general rule - the device show fewer climbs than the course in Garmin Connect.
I wasn't able to find any relevant answers anywhere, only on the discrepancies in the elevation data. This is not what I question here though - this is strictly to understand why some of the climbs listed for a given course on Garmin Connect do not appear in ClimbPro on an Edge device once riding this course.
