ANT+ powermeter disconnected and stated working after exactly 1h

I usually use a Quarq crank-based powermeter via ANT+ and a HR sensor via BT (has no ANT+).

On my last ride both sensors seem to be disconnected after exactly 30min into the ride.
When I recognized I tried to reconnect (and even deleted the PM) but no ANT+ device was found.

I was able to connect to the PM via BT and the AXS app on my phone, so I added the PM via BT to the Garmin.
The Garmin said 'connected' but I got no data - I gave up and continued the ride.

After exactly 1:30h (1h after dropout) of total time I suddenly got data from both sensors again and everything worked till the end.
When looking at the data in retrospect the exact 1h dropout is very strange and I have no clue how to prevent this if it isn't a single case.

Edge 840 is of 20.19 - should I try the 21.09b?

yes, you should. imho that is working much better with my setup (with Power2Max NG via ANT+ and Polar H10 via BT) But i found that lots of users have issue now with Quarqs and with Assiomas... I'm afraid…

I'm afraid that it is a "circle", the Garmin gives solutions for certain users, but gives issues to the others :) . Btw, do you have normal 840 or solar ? And what i suggest, remove all sensors from the sensor pool, and repair everything. And restart the unit with the "press and hold /apprx 15secs/ the power button until the unit turns off by itself"

I'm now on 21.14b and since the update, I additionally got the bug with the HF sensor described in:

The problem with the exactly 1h (total time) dropout with both wireless sensors still occurs.

Idk if it's possible to export a kind of log file to share with a garmin employee?

No app, but a datafield called 'windfield'

If you have the time and room for another profile try the following.

Activity Profiles -> Create New -> Copy Exiting -> Copy the profile you are currently using.

Then modify the new profile to remove the CIQ data field and try a ride using that new profile and see what happens.

I'll try and report, but this issue only occurred twice out of the last 4 rides, so I'll see...
