The edge 840 freezes after ejection from my Mac, and it became unresponsive once during the ride.

The situation is very similar to the one described here

However, mine also freezes during a ride which has nothing to do with ejection from a computer.

The outrageous part is that, this is a REPLACEMENT unit I just received 1 day ago, similar situation had happened to the first one I got.

I never expect this happened to a device worth 660 AUD from Garmin and it happened twice.

I ringed Garmin Australian customer service line three times and no one picked up the phone, at this stage I really need Garmin to give me a definite answer regarding this one.

I mean before connecting the device to the PC/MAC.
Try turning it off permanently and not putting it on stand-by, and then connecting it to the Garmin Express.

make it a habit to always turn it off before a run, and avoid putting it on standby when you finish one.

I saw your reply in the other post as well, haha, it works! this way it does not freeze whatsoever.
